World Bank assessing green development in Azerbaijan

Country Manager for World Bank (WB) in Azerbaijan Sarah Michael has said that WB is assessing "green development" in Azerbaijan.

Michael made the remarks during the event entitled "Green Transformation in Azerbaijan: Sustainable Development Goals" on November 2, Report informs.

She noted that this report covers all the main aspects of the country's "green" growth, including the "blue economy".

Moreover, the WB will prepare a report on the country's transition to a low-carbon economy.

“Azerbaijan has achieved great economic success over the past 30 years. It also became a WB donor. Azerbaijan has the potential to become a global leader in green transformation,” Michael said.

She added that Azerbaijan's five strategic priorities are aimed at very important issues, including the green transition, which will have a very positive impact on the country's economy.
