Yerevan yet to decide on participation in upcoming 3+3 meeting
Yerevan has not yet confirmed its participation in the forthcoming 3+3 meeting of Foreign Ministers scheduled to be held in Türkiye.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry's response to a media inquiry suggests that a decision on Armenia’s involvement has not been finalized, Caliber.Az reports.
Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani previously indicated that the next 3+3 foreign ministers' meeting will take place in Türkiye soon.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry stated, “Any concrete agreements regarding Armenia’s participation in the upcoming 3+3 regional platform meeting will be made public.”
The "3+3" platform, which includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Iran, and Türkiye, was established to address regional issues and foster diplomatic dialogue.
The initial meeting of this group took place in December 2021 in Moscow, where it was conducted at the level of deputy foreign ministers. Since then, the platform has evolved to include higher-level discussions.
The most recent meeting in this series was held in October 2023 in Tehran, where foreign ministers from the participating countries convened to discuss ongoing regional matters.
On November 15, 2023, Georgia officially withdrew from the platform.
The upcoming meeting in Türkiye, scheduled for 2024, will continue the tradition of rotating host countries for these critical discussions.
