Ynet: War with Iran forces 10,000 Israelis into emergency shelters
Israel’s Ministry of Health has reported that approximately 10,000 citizens left homeless by the recent conflict with Iran are now being housed in 71 hotels and temporary accommodation centres across the country.
The displaced individuals have been evacuated from cities including Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Bat Yam, Ra’anana, Rehovot, Ashkelon, Haifa, Jerusalem, Petah Tikva and Netanya, after their homes were either destroyed or rendered uninhabitable during the hostilities, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ynet.
According to officials, 16 local authorities have so far been forced to relocate residents due to widespread structural damage.
Note that, since war broke out on June 13, 2025, Iranian missile and drone attacks have caused extensive damage across Israeli cities, killing at least 24 civilians and injuring hundreds.
Cities including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Bat Yam, Rehovot, Haifa, and Beersheba have been repeatedly targeted. In Bat Yam, nine civilians were killed and over 60 buildings were damaged. Tel Aviv and the surrounding areas have seen daily missile barrages, damaging homes and civic infrastructure.
On June 19, Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba was hit, injuring 50 and prompting evacuation. Later, Iran used advanced Kheibar Shekan missiles to strike Ben Gurion Airport, residential areas, and a U.S. consular site, injuring over 240 people.
Israel’s missile defences have intercepted many projectiles, but growing Iranian precision and volume have caused severe disruption.
Thousands have been displaced, with dozens of buildings destroyed or rendered uninhabitable.
The conflict shows no sign of easing as Iranian strikes continue to test Israeli defences and target civilian and strategic sites.
