YouTube removes Armenian singers’ songs plagiarizing Azerbaijani compositions

24 July 2024 18:34

The song "Sirun Jan" by Armenian singer Gor Yepremyan, along with "Aghji Jan" by Armenian singer Harout Pamboukjian, have been removed from YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and other digital platforms.

The removal followed a copyright infringement complaint filed with YouTube by Adil Nasibov, the heir of Azerbaijani composer Bahram Nasibov, the Intellectual Property Agency told Caliber.Az.

The complaint was supported by the Azerbaijani Intellectual Property Agency and the "Digital and Audiovisual Broadcasting Industry" Public Union. The removal was due to the music's similarity to Nasibov's compositions, including the song “Karabakh”.
