Iran issues national ID-card for expatriates in US

Iran began issuing national identity cards for Iranians living in the United States, as President Ebrahim Raisi was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

Issuing ID-card for expatriates was faced with a number of issues but Iran’s Foreign Ministry began the process after President Raisi instructed the ministry, IRNA reports.

Iran has been issuing national ID-card for citizens living in Europe. And now the service is available for Iranian residing in the US and Canada.

Iranians in the US can request an Iranian national ID card through the Interests Section of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Washington.
