Caucasus Muslims Office: Iran bears full responsibility for attack on Azerbaijani embassy

The Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO)has said that  Iran bears full responsibility for the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran.

The office has made the remarks in a statement in connection with the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, APA reports.

The statement stresses that under international and diplomatic laws, the Iranian side bears full responsibility for the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy.

“This means a direct violation of the principle of inviolability of diplomatic buildings and diplomats. Ensuring the security of the embassy is undoubtedly the responsibility of the country in whose territory the embassy is located. This terrorist attack raises doubts against the background of the aggressive, destructive position that Iran has recently been demonstrating against Azerbaijan. We cannot turn a blind eye to any threat to our statehood. The attack on the Azerbaijani embassy on a political order is an unacceptable provocation, and all believers in Azerbaijan demand that the Iranian government take the necessary measures in connection with the incident and immediately punish those involved in terror,” the statement reads.
