Presidential aide calls for stronger media role in shaping Azerbaijan’s global image
Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev has called for stronger media role in shaping the country’s global image as he met with senior Azerbaijani officials and media executives.
The session, held at the Media Development Agency, brought together key stakeholders from the country's media landscape to address the evolving role of the press in Azerbaijan’s socio-political and international context, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
According to information provided by the Media Development Agency, the meeting was attended by the Agency’s Executive Director, members of the Supervisory Board, and the heads of major television broadcasters, news agencies, print outlets, and online platforms.
In his address, Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized the pivotal role media plays as a dynamic force in Azerbaijan’s continued development and modernization. He noted that comprehensive reforms initiated under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev have significantly strengthened the media sector, enabling it to become a more active agent of progress in the country’s transformation into a modern and globally connected society.
Hajiyev highlighted the expanding international presence and influence of Azerbaijani media, asserting that these advancements have enhanced the sector’s competitiveness on a global scale. He underscored the importance of the media not only as a domestic communicator but also as a strategic instrument in shaping Azerbaijan's narrative in the international information space.
