Azerbaijani Army boosts legal readiness with advanced training for military lawyers
As part of its annual operational plan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence has conducted a series of comprehensive training and methodological sessions for legal officers from the Armed Forces’ main directorates and units. The sessions also included participation from heads of investigative departments, military investigators, and officers of the ministry’s Legal Department.
The initiative aimed to enhance the legal and disciplinary framework within the armed forces and ensure uniform understanding and application of military law across all levels of command, Caliber.Az reports.
Elchin Aliyev, Major General of Justice, head of the Legal Department, led the sessions with an in-depth presentation outlining ongoing measures to improve the social and living conditions of military personnel. He highlighted current efforts to revise and modernize military legislation, reinforce discipline in military units, and prevent legal violations.
The sessions also included focused discussions on legal education within the military, emphasizing the importance of continued training in national jurisprudence and international humanitarian law to ensure compliance with legal norms in both peacetime and operational settings.
The training concluded with an open Q&A session, allowing participants to raise concerns, share experiences, and seek clarification on legal procedures and reforms.
