Azerbaijani delegation to visit Hungary for healthcare collaboration talks
Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tamás Torma has said that in June, a delegation from Azerbaijan's Health Ministry will visit Hungary to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.
The ambassador made these remarks during the international conference entitled “Pharmaceutical Industry of Azerbaijan: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the visit, discussions will centre on strengthening collaboration between the two countries in healthcare, with a particular focus on advancing pharmaceutical cooperation.
Ambassador Torma also highlighted that today's event in Baku, dedicated to pharmaceutical collaboration between Hungary and Azerbaijan, marks the first major international pharmaceutical conference hosted in Azerbaijan.
The conference serves as a platform to further enhance ties between the two nations in the pharmaceutical industry. Hungarian pharmaceutical companies are planning to significantly increase their presence in Azerbaijan, including supplying medications for the treatment of mental health disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
Ambassador Torma confirmed that Hungarian firms are keen to expand their operations in Azerbaijan, continuing the trend that began in 1993, when Hungary first started exporting medicines to the country.
"This marks a new phase in the development of our pharmaceutical cooperation. We are committed to furthering our work in Azerbaijan and are optimistic about future prospects," he said.
In addition to the commercial aspect of the visit, the ambassador emphasised the ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare cooperation at the state level.
"We are working to deepen cooperation between Hungary and Azerbaijan in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, not just at the government level but also in business and education," he added.
