Armenian media: Azerbaijan requests to protect its athletes in Yerevan

Azerbaijan has officially confirmed its participation in the 2023 European Weightlifting Championship to be held in Yerevan on April 15-23.

Referee of the International Weightlifting Federation Arayik Alaverdyan said that the Azerbaijani side had officially requested to protect its athletes, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.

Five athletes, namely, Isa Rustamov (67 kg), Omar Javadov (73 kg), Ali Shukurlu (102 kg), Dadash Dadashbayli (109 kg) and Nazila Ismayilova (49 kg), will represent Azerbaijan.

The final confirmation date is April 11.
