Expert: Trip of French official without Azerbaijan's permission disrespect to territorial integrity

Military expert Adalat Verdiyev has said that the travel of such people as Laurent Wauquiez to the country without the permission of the state is a disrespect to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

In late March, Laurent Wauquiez, president of France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, paid a visit to Armenia. On March 29 he travelled to a section of the Lachin road leading to Armenia and delivered political messages against Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Laurent Wauquiez, who is preparing to run in the 2027 presidential elections, "getting ahead of himself," said he wanted to go to Karabakh and provide humanitarian aid to Armenians there, Report informs.

Verdiyev said that all the needs of Armenians living in Karabakh are met by both Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross. All kinds of goods and humanitarian aid are delivered:"They don't need anything. Secondly, the entry of such people into the territory of Azerbaijan without the permission of the Azerbaijani state is a blatant disrespect for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will by no means allow this.

According to him, it should be taken into consideration that French politicians have always had a biased attitude towards Azerbaijan and have a pro-Armenian stance: "Their coming here and carrying out some activities under the guise of humanitarian aid further aggravates and complicates the situation. Therefore, it is inexpedient for such a person to make such statements and go to Karabakh".
