Azerbaijani state agency's employees killed in mine blast in Garabagh
On September 19, at about 4:00 am, on the 58th kilometre of the Ahmedbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway, a “Howo” truck operated by the State Highway Agency of Azerbaijan (AAYDA) was blown up by an anti-tank mine.
As a result of the incident, two employees of the agency - Sadikhov Samir, 53, and Guliyev Farhad, 68, were killed, AAYDA said in a statement on September 19, APA reports.
Law enforcement agencies are conducting an appropriate investigation into the incident.
The State Security Service of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case under articles 214.2.1, 214.2.2, 214.2.3 (terrorism committed by a group of persons, an organized group or a criminal association (criminal organization) by prior conspiracy), 120.2.1, 120.2.4, 120.2.7, 120.2.10, 120.2.11, 120.2.12 (deliberate murder of two or more persons, committed with particular cruelty or in a generally dangerous manner by a group of persons by prior conspiracy motivated by national hatred or enmity), and 228.3 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying by an organized group of weapons, components for them, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices), etc.
Comprehensive investigative and operational measures are being carried out into the criminal case, and additional information will be provided to the public about its progress.
