Armenian historian appeals to compatriots to abandon revanchist mood

Armenian historian Philip Ekozyants has appealed on his compatriots to abandon revanchist feelings.

“Brothers Armenians, deep down in your soul, you understand that we need to do only one thing, make peace with the Turks and Azerbaijanis, so that all problems are resolved. We just need to forgive each other, forgive once and for all,” Ekozyants stated in his video message on his Facebook, Caliber.Az reports.

"I hope it is very clear to you that there will be no Kosovo scenario in Garabagh. Because neither Europe nor America is crazy enough to start bombing Baku, and then Istanbul if needed. No one will dare to do it even on the orders of the Hague Court," the historian stressed.

“Simply ask yourself if, throughout the history of the Hague civilization, they have ever honoured at least one promise they made to you. Remember! How your great-grandfathers died for the mythical Treaty of Sèvres, for Armenia from sea to sea. And then, when they died, the Treaty of Sèvres was thrown into the trash and replaced with the Treaty of Lausanne, according to which you are nobody and there is no way to call you. Remember, read a normal story, not a spiritualist one!

In general, believing in fairy tales and all sorts of nonsense is easy and even very pleasant if you are a child. Well, if you are an adult, then you understand that this is pointless, useless, right? It can even be deadly. Ask yourself a question: these people to whom you listen all the time, whose advice you listen to, have they ever advised you anything useful that would bring you benefit, peace, prosperity. You understand perfectly well that they only take advantage of your trust, that’s all. So that your loved ones continue to die, and you run to them for medicine.

The fact that all Armenians need to completely leave Karabakh in order to prove to the world that it is impossible to live next door to Azerbaijan, and then return there again and live with them, and prove to the world that it is still possible to live next door to Azerbaijan.

Because they also return to their homes, which they left not to prove something to anyone and then go to the Hague court, but simply because they were shot there with machine guns.

There you will be with your grief and forever missed opportunities,” said Ekozyants.
