Pundit: Armenia declares political boycott of Russia

    REGION  30 November 2023 - 12:36

Russian political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov has said that Armenia has declared a political boycott of Russia.

"In bilateral relations between Russia and Armenia, there is a great political influence in all spheres. After all, the depth of relations that exists between the two countries in many spheres was formed in the conditions of political trust in the relations. Naturally, when this trust is broken, when serious political problems arise in the relations, they spread to all other spheres," Lukyanov said in an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

He also recalled that Armenia is a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), thanks to which it has received privileges in many spheres, including preferential gas prices.

“Bilateral problems cannot but affect relations in these aspects, since political relations are decisive. And a number of serious objective and subjective problems arose in Armenian-Russian relations, perhaps for the sake of harsh rhetoric, so that Armenia would receive the sympathy of the West. And Russia, taking into account the political boycott that exists on the part of Armenia, in fact, does not react seriously in any way, trying to wait for further developments and solutions to global problems,” the political scientist said.
