Fire at Astana Airport causes flight delays

A fire broke out in the electrical switchboard of the Astana International Airport terminal this morning.

No one was injured, the fire has already been extinguished. However, due to the emergency, 18 flights were delayed, Caliber.Az reports citing Kazakh media.

Smoke occurred in the gallery between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, electrical cables caught fire in the server terminal No. 2, the fire area was 10.15 square meters. m. Evacuation was carried out. The fire was extinguished at 8:24 local time.

According to the information, the departure of 18 flights is delayed, including flight DV821 from Astana to Pulkovo. The exact time of departure of the planes is unknown. The airport's press service clarified that it continues to accept incoming flights.
