Azerbaijan detains two Iranian citizens for illegal maritime border crossing PHOTO

The Shahdag border patrol ship noticed an unknown boat in the direction of the Alat roadstead in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, which was moving to the south.

The boat was detected as a result of the interaction of the coast guard of the Azerbaijani State Border Service, technical observation services and border patrol vessels on February 22, the Azerbaijani State Border Service told Caliber.Az.

A patrol ship seized a high-speed boat with a Yamaha-200 engine and two crew members near Kurdili island. Crew members, Iranian citizens Mehran Yusifinejat, 38, and Shahram Mahmudi, 30, were detained for illegally crossing the maritime border.

The investigative measures are being taken.
