Armenia confirms detention of Azerbaijani private

Armenian National Security Service has confirmed the information about the detention of an Azerbaijani soldier.

On February 28, at about 05:15 a.m. a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces crossed the line of contact in the direction of Tegh village of Syunik (Zangezur) region of the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional border, Armenia’s NSS reports.

It is reported that a criminal case has been instituted in connection with the incident.

On the morning of February 28, private Panahov Ruslan Eldaniz oglu of the Azerbaijani army got lost in adverse weather conditions while moving between service positions in the territory of Lachin District.
