Kazakh leader calls for swift peace treaty between Baku, Yerevan

In an interview with Armenian media, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has voiced a strong desire for the prompt establishment of peace between Baku and Yerevan.

He emphasized Kazakhstan's active interest in facilitating a lasting resolution to the conflict, Trend reports.

"Kazakhstan does not remain indifferent to this topic. We are interested in the soonest conclusion of a peace treaty between the two friendly to us countries. Establishing a lasting peace between Yerevan and Baku is in the interests of our country," President Tokayev remarked, underlining the significance of stability in the region.

President Tokayev, known for Kazakhstan's role in peacekeeping initiatives, expressed readiness to support any endeavors geared towards fostering peaceful and sustainable development in the area. His statements echoed a commitment to regional stability and cooperation.

Furthermore, President Tokayev highlighted the growing importance of the South Caucasus in the broader Eurasian transport network. He stressed the necessity of unblocking transportation routes to facilitate economic integration and promote stability across the region.

"Full-fledged operation of transportation links is an important step towards economic integration of the entire South Caucasus and establishment of stable peace in the region," President Tokayev affirmed.
