Another Turkish airport suspends operations due to earthquake
07 February 2023 12:55
Due to devastating earthquakes, the airport in Adana, Turkey's southeast, has decided to suspend operations.
The airport was closed until a new decision is made, DHA reports.
The closure of the airport was preceded by two consecutive earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 in the morning and 7.5 in the afternoon.
Hatay Airport in Antakya, on the Mediterranean coast, had previously failed due to runway destruction. Some airports in the region only serve flight vehicles carrying rescuers and victims' relatives.
