Arab delegations walk out during Israeli PM's UN speech Amid rising tensions
During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address at the UN General Assembly, several Arab delegations staged a walkout in protest, leaving the hall as he took the podium for his remarks.
Dozens of diplomats stood up and exited the chamber as Netanyahu was invited to speak, resulting in a noticeably half-empty room, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The decision to leave reflects heightened tensions and discontent among Arab nations regarding Israel's policies. Some delegations opted not to attend Netanyahu's speech at all, underscoring the strained atmosphere.
In his address, Netanyahu issued a stark warning to Iran, stating, “If you strike us, we will strike you,” he said. “There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach, and that’s true of the entire Middle East,” the PM said, emphasizing Israel's readiness to respond to any aggression.
His comments were met with scrutiny, further deepening the divisions observed at the assembly.
