Araghchi fires back at Trump’s “Stone Age” threat
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has responded to recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who warned that Iran could be struck with force capable of sending it “back to the Stone Age.”
Araghchi commented on the statement in a post on social media, drawing a contrast between modern geopolitical realities and the historical reference used by Trump.
"There's one striking difference between the present and the Stone Age: there was no oil or gas being pumped in the Middle East back then.
Are POTUS and Americans who put him in office sure that they want to turn back the clock?" he wrote.
Trump had earlier said in a national address that within the next two to three weeks, the United States could carry out an “extremely powerful strike” against Iran, potentially sending the country “back to the Stone Age.”
