Armenia moves to formalise growing road transport links with China
Armenia and China are set to formalise a new agreement on road transport, marking a significant step in expanding connectivity between the two nations.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the proposal was approved on August 28 during a meeting of the Armenian government, following a submission by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
Currently, road transport for both passenger and freight traffic between Armenia and China is not formally regulated. However, trade and transport volumes have been steadily increasing. In the first half of 2025, China became Armenia’s second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $1.196 billion.
The exact details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
