Armenia welcomes Gaza ceasefire agreement
Armenia has expressed support for the recent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, calling on all parties to continue dialogue to secure lasting peace and stability in the region.
In a statement on X, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the country “welcomes the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which also secures the release of hostages and ensures free access of humanitarian aid, reached through the tireless efforts of mediators led by Donald Trump.”
The ministry added that Armenia hopes the agreement will “pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.”
Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement, including a planned exchange of hostages, marking the first stage of a U.S.-led initiative by President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Gaza.
The deal was signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and will come into effect once approved by the Israeli cabinet.
Under the terms, hostilities will pause, Israel will begin a partial withdrawal from Gaza, and Hamas will release hostages in return for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel.
Israeli forces are expected to start pulling back within 24 hours, with the release of remaining hostages scheduled in the coming days.
