Armenia notifies Latvia of intent to exit Russian-led CSTO

Armenia has notified Latvia about the gradual withdrawal of the Russian military from Armenian territory.

Latvian Seimas (Parliament) Speaker Daiga Mierina made the remarks following a meeting with Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"We talked about the fact that Armenia is on its way to the European Union. And that's why it wants to withdraw from the CSTO led by Russia. Also, Armenia informed us that the Russian military is gradually withdrawing from the country," Mierina said.
