Armenian expert: Azerbaijan pursues clear policy, achieves brilliant success
Armenian political analyst Argishti Kiviryan has said that the problem is that the policy being pursued by the Armenian authorities puts Armenia at risk.
“This policy has been stipulated by the Armenian authorities’ political illiteracy and I would like to talk about it. Let law enforcement agencies deal with this in the future. Their policy can lead to a full-fledged disaster for Armenia, this is a fact. It is easy to understand it. The political tricks of these people have left Armenia alone in the region, and it currently has no allies in the region,” Kiviryan said during an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“We all know that these people are unaware of politics. Even if we imagine that they want to destroy the country, these people will not accept this. This is similar to such a situation when you want to save someone's life through surgery, but you do not know how to operate. However, even in this case, they stick to the government because the government gives them many opportunities to get rich. This is a reality arising from Armenian psychology, this is the concept of caring about the family. What are you doing? I am taking care of the family. Why are you taking care of the family at the country’s expense? The reason is that everyone is doing it. Now what do you want from us?” the political analyst noted.
Kiviryan said that as for Baku’s policy, it achieved what it wanted on Western platforms, namely, it resolved the Karabakh issue.
“Azerbaijan has not abandoned the West. Azerbaijan and the West are closely connected in many aspects. Baku knows that it can make such statements and it will be perceived. Baku wants to dictate its new agenda to the West, and if it succeeds, then the Azerbaijani authorities will go to the West and take what they are interested in,” the political analyst noted.
“We have seen that Baku has recently achieved great success. If its agenda is presented to the West, Azerbaijani officials will happily go to the West and resolve the remaining issues. Over three years, as a result of various political manoeuvres, Azerbaijan managed to resolve the Karabakh issue,” he said.
“After that, tensions arose with Iran, and we have recently seen that it is also trying to resolve this problem. Proceeding from Baku’s statements regarding the West, Baku should not appeal to the West, because this or that condition will be imposed on it. Azerbaijan wants to go to the West with its own agenda, rather than with an imposed one, like Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” Kiviryan stressed.
“Pashinyan goes to the West, where he is forced to make certain decisions, he agrees to everything and then comes to the National Assembly and begins to demonstrate his heroic image. As opposed to Yerevan, Baku has a clear policy and Baku pursues a professional, complementary policy and, if it appears on one or another platform, it is capable of solving the assigned tasks,” he said.
“I am sure that Baku is pursuing its shadow policy with the West. As a result of this policy, the West will take Pashinyan by the scruff of the neck, bring him to Brussels and force him to sign the documents that Baku wants. In this case, as soon as Yerevan greatly spoils relations with Iran and Russia, Pashinyan will have no other choice. This is the so-called political model that he represents,” the political analyst added.
