Armenian PM calls for diplomatic approach in border dispute with Azerbaijan Address to Tavush residents
In a recent meeting with residents in the Kirants settlement of Tavush (Tovuzgala) region, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of a diplomatic approach in addressing border disputes with Azerbaijan.
"In order to demand from Azerbaijan, we must stand on the line of our border," he told the residents, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
Pashinyan addressed concerns raised by the opposition regarding the possibility of giving away Tavush villages, saying: "Opposition says - Pashinyan wants to give away Tavush villages. Is there a village of Khrimlu in the Tavush region? Who is the head of the administration of this village? I want to meet him. Is
there an Askipara village in Tavush? Who are the inhabitants of this village?”
“In order to get what legitimately belongs to us, we must be prepared to give up what legitimately does not belong to us,” he said.
The prime minister expressed his commitment to sharing information and engaging in dialogue with the public, seeking their support to pursue peaceful and diplomatic solutions: “I'm here to share that information and ask you to give us that moral and political opportunity to go down that path. We will come back from time to time. When I have new substantive information or options for discussion, I will come and we will talk again in this format. I came to share this information and ask you to allow us to move step by step, to see if it is possible to take this peaceful, calm path and fix the territorial integrity of our country.
“We should do everything possible for this and then come and tell you what worked and what didn't," Pashinyan added.
