Armenian PM praises decision to hold key European summit in Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has welcomed the decision to hold the European Political Community (EPC) summit in Azerbaijan in 2028.
Pashinyan shared his remarks on the social media platform X, expressing support for the initiative, Caliber.Az reports.
“I also welcome the decision to hold the EPC Summit in Azerbaijan in 2028. It’s important to emphasize that Armenia and Azerbaijan reciprocally supported each other’s candidacies to host EPC,” the post by Armenian prime minister reads.
The announcement was originally made by President of the European Council António Costa, who stated via X that upcoming EPC summits are scheduled to take place in Armenia and Ireland in 2026, followed by Switzerland and Greece in 2027. In 2028, the summits will be hosted in Azerbaijan during the first half of the year and in Latvia during the second half.
