Azerbaijani defence chief sends festive greetings to military personnel

Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has extended his warm greetings to the personnel of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the occasion of 31 December – the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year.

Addressing officers, warrant officers, midshipmen, cadets, sergeants, soldiers, sailors, civil servants, and civilian personnel, Minister Hasanov highlighted the significant achievements of the national military and reaffirmed the importance of ongoing commitment to service, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.

“I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of 31 December – the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year, and I wish each of you robust health, determination, and strong will,” he said.

The Minister underscored the progress made under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, noting that the strengthening of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has become a cornerstone for the defence and security of the country. “The major achievements in strengthening our national defence, along with large-scale reforms within the Armed Forces, have reinforced the victory spirit of our personnel,” Hasanov said, recalling the Azerbaijani Army’s decisive victories in the Patriotic War and subsequent anti-terrorist operations, which restored the country’s territorial integrity and constitutional order.

Highlighting the recent military parade in Baku marking the fifth anniversary of 8 November – Victory Day, Hasanov emphasised that it reaffirmed “the invincibility of the increasingly strong Azerbaijani Armed Forces.” He also drew attention to the significance of the Presidential Decree declaring 2025 the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” marking another milestone in Azerbaijan’s statehood.

Minister Hasanov praised the role of the military in the reconstruction of liberated territories, noting, “In the liberated territories, where our national flag proudly waves, the valiant Azerbaijani Army stands vigilant in defence of our homeland, contributing decisively to the highest level of reconstruction and development work.”

Expressing confidence in the continued dedication of military personnel, Hasanov added, “By remaining faithful to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Military Oath, and military regulations, you will continue to strengthen your combat readiness and moral-psychological preparation, and will further enhance your skills and efforts to achieve new successes in service.”

He concluded by paying tribute to the memory of Azerbaijan’s martyrs, saying, “As always, on these festive days, we honour those who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and cherish their unforgettable legacy.”

“On the occasion of 31 December – Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year, I sincerely congratulate each of you and wish you robust health, long life, family happiness, and continued success in your honourable service to our homeland and independent Azerbaijani state. Happy holidays!” he added.
