Azerbaijan’s Parliament ratifies visa exemption deal with Uganda
Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament) has ratified an agreement between Azerbaijan and Uganda, exempting holders of diplomatic and official passports from visa requirements.
The bill titled “On Approval of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Uganda on Exemption of Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports from Visa Requirements” was adopted at a parliamentary session on December 30, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The agreement, signed on October 15, 2025, aims to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and facilitate official visits and mutual contacts.
Under the agreement, citizens of both countries holding valid diplomatic or official passports may enter the territory of the other party without a visa, transit through it, and stay for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Matters related to residence, work, and other legal issues of these individuals in the host country are governed by the domestic laws of that country.
