Turkish speaker congratulates Azerbaijan on Baku’s liberation anniversary
Speaker of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş has congratulated Azerbaijan on the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from occupation, sharing a post on his X account.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, from enemy occupation.
I remember with gratitude and appreciation all the heroes of this sacred victory, led by Nuru Pasha, commander of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, as well as our martyrs and the fighters for Azerbaijan’s independence,” he said, as reported by Caliber.Az.

September 15 marks the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku by the Islamic Army of the Caucasus from the occupation of Armenian-Bolshevik forces. On September 15, 1918, Azerbaijani and Turkish servicemen liberated Baku from the Bolshevik-Dashnak junta, an event regarded as one of the notable chapters in Azerbaijan’s 20th-century history.
