Azerbaijani MP calls for common university programmes across Turkic states

15 September 2026 14:37

Turkic states should strengthen cooperation in education, including through joint undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Azerbaijani MP Fariz Ismayilzade has said.

Speaking at a panel discussion in Baku titled  "Turkic World Dialogues: Common Future, Common Vision", Ismayilzade said there was currently no common bachelor’s or master’s programme among Turkic states, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

He said educational exchange programmes and joint research projects among the countries were not being implemented at the desired level.

“Unfortunately, the implementation of educational exchange programmes among Turkic states, as well as the conduct of joint research, is not at the desired level,” Ismayilzade said.

He added that educational exchanges were important given the development of Turkic states and the joint steps they were taking.

The panel discussion was organised in Baku by the Communications Directorate of the Administration of the President of Türkiye.
