A key planning conference for the upcoming "Shield of Peace 2026" joint military exercise was held in Baku on December 25, with the participation of delegations from the Azerbaijan Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces.
The conference, organised by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, saw extensive discussions between military representatives of both nations. The primary focus of the talks was the objectives and operational plans for the large-scale military exercise, which is set to take place in the UAE in February 2026, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry.
The event included detailed briefings on the tasks to be executed during the exercise, with both delegations addressing a range of issues pertinent to the successful execution of the operation. This included discussions on the various phases of the exercise and mutual areas of interest between the two armed forces.
As part of the UAE delegation's visit, the group also toured several military units of the Azerbaijan Army. The visitors were provided with comprehensive information about the training conditions and operational readiness of Azerbaijani forces.
