Armenian pundit rules out any US pressure on Türkiye, Azerbaijan
Armenian political analyst Suren Surenyants has said that the US Congress has decided to approve a deal with Türkiye to sell 40 new F-16 fighter jets and upgrade existing F-16 fighter jets.
“Our pseudo-Westerners said a few days ago that Türkiye approved Sweden’s membership in NATO under the US pressure, predicting similar pressure on Baku. Those days, I wrote that there was no pressure on Ankara, it was the US-Turkish deal. The fact has been confirmed, but I am sure that none of the pseudo-Westerners spreading lies will apologise,” Surenyants added, Caliber.Az reports.
The US Congress decided to approve a deal with Türkiye to sell it 40 new and modernise existing F-16 fighter jets, according to the message of the US embassy in Ankara on X.
"The decision made by Congress to approve Türkiye's acquisition of 40 new and 79 upgraded F-16 aircraft is a major step forward. Türkiye's F-16 fleet is important to NATO forces in ensuring future interoperability among allies," the embassy said citing US ambassador to Türkiye Jeffry Lane Flake’s statement.
