Armenians ruling party rules signing of peace treaty with Azerbaijan soon
Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan said on October 13 that "there is an agreement to sign a peace treaty and demarcate the borders by the end of this year," and that this agreement was reached on September 27 during a meeting with an assistant to the President of Azerbaijan at the White House.
“It is noteworthy that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed a diametrically opposite idea," Caliber.Az reports referring to the Yerevan-based newspaper Hraparak.
"In recent days, speaking about the peace agreement in narrow circles, he said in particular that it would not be signed this year, and that it is generally unknown when it will be signed.
It remains to be seen whether Nikol Pashinyan once again puts a soft pillow under the heads of some people in order to then surprise them by signing another document at night, as he already did on November 9, 2020, or whether the fate of the agreement is still unclear. The parliamentary faction of the ruling party is sure that the peace agreement will not be signed in the coming months and even years,” the newspaper says.
