Azerbaijan advances global climate initiatives at third day of Baku Climate Action Week
The third day of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW) is underway, focusing on some of the most urgent climate challenges in Azerbaijan and the region.
According to local media, today’s speakers include Mukhtar Babayev, President of COP29, the Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, and Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, alongside other key officials.
The agenda covers critical topics such as agriculture and food security in the context of climate change, climate technologies, and regional strategies for sustainable water management.
BCAW 2025 builds on the success of the first Baku Climate Action Week in 2024, which was held in partnership with London to mobilise society and stakeholders ahead of Azerbaijan’s preparations to host the COP29 climate conference.
Organisers highlight that the primary goal of this year’s forum is to accelerate global climate action while strengthening collaboration among governments, businesses, and the scientific community.
By bringing together experts and policymakers, BCAW 2025 continues Azerbaijan’s efforts to lead on climate initiatives and foster meaningful progress in addressing climate challenges.
