Azerbaijan, Armenia to meet in World Chess Olympiad showdown

Azerbaijan’s women’s national chess team will face Armenia in the seventh round of the 46th World Chess Olympiad, while the men’s team will take on Greece.

The seventh-round matches will be played on September 23 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. After six rounds, both Azerbaijani teams have collected 10 points, with the men’s team currently in 12th place and the women’s team in ninth.

The World Chess Olympiad is being held under the Swiss system and consists of 11 rounds. The tournament will conclude on September 27.
