Azerbaijan attracts over $400 million for seawater desalination
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has announced the signing of agreements with Saudi energy giant ACWA Power for the construction of a seawater desalination plant on the Caspian coast.
"As part of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, with the participation of Samir Sharifov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we attended the signing ceremony of documents with "ACWA Power" for the construction of a seawater desalination plant, envisaging the attraction of over 400 million USD in Foreign Direct Investment," Caliber.Az quotes Jabbarov as saying on his X account.
Jabbarov said the project would "enable the use of modern and effective solutions for the efficient management of water resources" in Azerbaijan.
He added that the plant will contribute to technology transfer and promote the development of public-private partnerships.
