Azerbaijan extradites to Uzbekistan suspect in fraud

The Azerbaijani law-enforcement agencies have extradited Uzbek citizen Karimov Rustam, 1981, accused of committing fraud in Uzbekistan and put on the international wanted list by the law-enforcement agencies of the country.

The press service of the Prosecutor-General's Office told Report that Karimov, detained last October, was extradited at the request of the Uzbek Prosecutor-General's Office.

"Under the Convention of 07.10.2002 ‘On legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal cases’, a decision on extradition of the accused was made and he was handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice," the report said.
