Azerbaijan Grand Prix "Formula 1" starts today
Azerbaijan Grand Prix "Formula 1" and "Formula 2" starts.
The Formula 1 competition will go down in history as the 6th Grand Prix in Baku, caliber.az reports.
After a 3-year break, fans will be able to watch the Grand Prix from the stands. On the first day of the competition, there will be two free races of Formula 1, a free race and a classification round of Formula 2.
In the Baku Ring, the gates of the fan zone will open at 10:00. The first on the track will be the pilots of Formula 2. 22 pilots from 11 teams will take part in the free race.
This will be followed by the first free run of Formula 1, which is considered the main competition. The day will end with the qualifying round of the tournament of secondary importance and the second free run of Formula 1.
The current world champion Max Verstappen (125 points) and currently is Red Bull team pilot, is leading in Formula 1. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is second with 116 points, Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez is third with 110 points.
In Formula 2, MP Motorsport's Felipe Drugovic, ART Grand Prix's Theo Purscher and Prema Racing's Jehan Daruwala take first, second and third places respectively.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will end on June 12. Previous competitions in Baku were won by ex-pilot of the Mercedes team, who ended his career Nico Rosberg, ex-pilot of the Red Bull team, now representing McLaren Daniel Ricciardo (2017), Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes (2018), his teammate Valtteri Bottas (2019) and Sergio Perez of Red Bull (2021). The 2020 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
