Azerbaijan holding first Cultural Forum of Turkic World in Shusha PHOTO
Azerbaijan is holding another international event in Shusha city.
The first Cultural Forum of the Turkic World organised by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, is being held in Shusha on October 13-14, the Ministry of Culture told Caliber.Az.
The participants of the first Cultural Forum of the Turkic World visited the Creative Centre in Shusha, restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on October 13, where they reviewed the “Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh” photo exhibition.
The unique photographs, documents and video footage reflecting the merits of great leader Heydar Aliyev in the social, economic, political and cultural development of Karabakh during the Soviet period were showcased at the exhibition. The photographs showing the national leader’s trips to Karabakh, meetings and various events held there were also showcased.
The guests were informed that the Creative Centre was put into operation on May 10, 2023, after restoration work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The building has been included in the list of architectural monuments of republican significance.
Then the participants of the first Cultural Forum of the Turkic World visited the Saatli Mosque in Shusha.
The historical mosque of the same name, located in the Saatli city area, has been included in the list of architectural monuments of republican significance.
The Saatli Mosque was built in 1883 according to the design of Karbalai Safikhan Garabaghi, who was the architect of a number of monumental religious and civil buildings in Karabakh, including the Ashaghi and Yukhari Govhar Agha mosques in Shusha, the Juma mosque in Aghdam and the Imamzadeh Mausoleum in Barda.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also visited the Saatli mosque during his trip to Shusha on January 14, 2021. The president presented a Quran brought from Mecca to the mosque.
