Azerbaijan holds 23rd position in Olympic rankings with two golds
Azerbaijan is in 23rd place in the medal standings at the Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
The team currently has two gold medals, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Judoists Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) became Olympic champions.
Boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) secured at least a silver medal by reaching the final.
Serbia (2 gold medals) is also in 23rd place with Azerbaijan.
Ukraine is in 18th place in the medal standings (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals), Georgia is in 28th place (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze medal), Türkiye is in 54th place (1 silver, 2 bronze medals), Armenia is in 58th place (1 silver medal), and Iran is in 69th place (1 bronze medal).
The top three included the United States (24 gold, 31 silver, 31 bronze medals), China (22 gold, 21 silver, 16 bronze medals) and Australia (14 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals).
At the moment, 76 countries have won medals.
The Olympic Games will end on August 11.
