Azerbaijan, Hungary discuss cooperation in oil-gas projects PHOTO

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, as well as Energy Minister Csaba Lantos, have discussed cooperation in oil and gas projects in Budapest.

The meeting focused on the importance of Azerbaijani gas supplies to the Hungarian market, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

Prospects of long-term gas supplies from Azerbaijan, as well as the development of cooperation with Hungarian companies in oil and gas projects, were discussed, according to the ministry.

At the meeting with Szijjarto, satisfaction was expressed about the results of the ministerial meeting on the development and transmission of green energy and the importance of accelerating the processes related to the establishment of the Joint Enterprise was noted.

It was emphasized that the transfer of a large amount of green energy from Azerbaijan will play an important role in the realization of the "Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor" as an efficient project.

The parties noted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are interested in transferring electricity from Central Asia to Europe through this corridor. The strategic importance of the project was assessed in terms of creating a bridge between Azerbaijan and the European Union, including Hungary.

At the meeting with Energy Minister Csaba Lantos, the issue of collaboration with Hungary in the fields of hydrocarbons and green energy was resumed.

There was a lively discussion about strengthening ties with MOL and MVM firms, as well as the Green Energy Corridor feasibility study (FS) process and power transmission to Europe.

It was agreed that Hungary would provide practical support for the processes related to the connection to the European Association of Transmission System Operators of Electricity (ENTSO-E) network.
