Azerbaijan promotes tourism potential in Southeast Asia

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board held a series of tourism events in Southeast Asia from September 18 to 23, promoting the country’s tourism potential.

The agency said the events were held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia; Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia; and Singapore, Caliber.Az reports.

A total of 220 representatives of the tourism industry, including MICE agencies, tour operators and airlines, took part in the meetings.

Participants were presented with information about Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, ecotourism opportunities and modern tourism infrastructure.

The presentations also covered opportunities for performing Umrah pilgrimage alongside traditional tourism.

According to the State Tourism Agency, business meetings were held as part of the events to discuss cooperation opportunities and exchange views on establishing new business ties and expanding existing ones.
