SOCAR eyes cooperation with Turkish expert in floating power plants

Azerbaijan's state oil company welcomed a delegation made up of executives from Türkiye’s energy company specialising in floating power plants, Karpowership, to discuss avenues for cooperation.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf held talks with the Turkish visiting delegation, led by Orhan Remzi Karadeniz, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company in Baku on September 23, as Caliber.Az reports.

In the course of the meeting, Najaf presented his Turkish guests with information about SOCAR's global expansion strategy and projects currently being implemented in different countries.

The meeting highlighted SOCAR’s efforts to expand its international operations, with the company placing particular emphasis on developing strategic partnerships across various segments of the energy value chain and diversifying its investment portfolio.

The sides also discussed avenues where the two firms could pursue joint activities in international markets. Among the potential areas of cooperation were electricity generation, energy infrastructure and new energy solutions.

Karpowership operates the world's largest fleet of floatable power plants, which are referred to as powerships. The company designs, builds and operates its energy transition assets in-house, offering seamless solutions to countless international clients.
