Azerbaijan MFA: Islamophobic remarks by Indian officials unacceptable

Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Bawitlung Vanlalvena has been summoned to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Report.

During the meeting, it was noted that the use of insulting remarks by officials of the ruling party of India against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad is unacceptable.

It was stated that the Islamophobic position demonstrated by Indian officials touch the feelings of Muslims all over the world and Azerbaijan’s condemning this behaviour was brought to the Indian ambassador’s attention.

It was emphasized that such cases undermine the peaceful co-existence of people from various religions. It is expected that the Indian government will take strict measures against the officials.
