Azerbaijani delegation to observe major international military exercises in Türkiye
An Azerbaijani military delegation, led by First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, has departed for Türkiye to participate in a series of high-level defence engagements and military observation events.
The visit comes at the official invitation of Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Army General Metin Gürak, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence told Caliber.Az.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will observe the multinational military exercise Defender of Peace-2025 in Istanbul. This high-profile event brings together allied and partner nations to enhance operational coordination, strategic deterrence, and peacekeeping readiness in a multinational environment.
Following the Istanbul exercise, the delegation will travel to the city of Konya to attend the High-Level Observer Day of the international air force exercise Anatolian Eagle-2025, which focuses on advanced aerial warfare training and multinational interoperability.
In addition to participating in these key military events, Colonel-General Valiyev is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, to discuss defence cooperation and regional security issues.
