Azerbaijan, Sudan commit to deepening diplomatic, economic ties PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has welcomed Anas Eltayeb Elgailani Mustafa, the newly appointed Sudanese ambassador to Azerbaijan, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Mustafa presented copy of his credentials during the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Minister Bayramov extended his congratulations on the ambassador’s appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.
The discussions centred on enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, regional developments, and security challenges. Both parties underscored the critical role of sustained political dialogue and reciprocal visits in deepening partnership within international platforms.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of consultation mechanisms between the foreign ministries and the active engagement of the joint working group focused on economic cooperation. Notably, Sudan reaffirmed its support for Azerbaijan’s positions and initiatives in major international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Ambassador Mustafa expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s provision of scholarships to Sudanese students, emphasizing the educational and cultural bonds fostering closer relations.
Minister Bayramov provided a comprehensive briefing on the three-decade-long occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and outlined ongoing normalization efforts in the post-conflict phase, underlining Azerbaijan’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.
