NATO Admiral stresses Azerbaijan’s role in alliance’s broader partnership network
NATO Admiral Rob Bauer highlighted the strategic significance of the alliance’s partnership with Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
Admiral Bauer emphasized that Azerbaijan stands among the 35 official partners of the North Atlantic Alliance, underscoring the distinctive nature of their collaborative relationship, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan is based on specific requests from the Azerbaijani side regarding areas of partnership,” Bauer explained.
He further clarified that the framework of this cooperation is shaped through direct dialogue between NATO and Azerbaijani authorities.
“An important component of the partnership includes joint exercises and other forms of practical interaction. At the same time, cooperation is not based on directives from NATO but rather on the areas where Azerbaijan wishes to work, both with individual alliance member states and with the organization as a whole,” Bauer concluded.
