Azerbaijani defence minister awards top ranks to newly promoted officers PHOTO

Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has met with a group of officers from the Defence Ministry who were recently promoted to high military ranks by presidential decree.

The official ceremony began with the reading of the order of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated June 25, 2025, which conferred the rank of major general on several senior officers, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az. 

A related order issued by the defence minister was also announced. 

Hasanov personally presented the newly awarded ranks to the officers. During the ceremony, he conveyed the congratulations of Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and extended his own best wishes for their continued service. He also offered guidance and key recommendations as the officers advance in their military careers. The recipients of the high military ranks expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Aliyev and the leadership of the defence ministry for the trust placed in them.
