Azerbaijan, Moldova seek to bolster agricultural ties amid climate challenges
Azerbaijan and Moldova have signalled a mutual commitment to strengthening ties in agricultural processing and embracing advanced agrotechnologies, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture announced.
During talks in Baku, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, met with a Moldovan delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea, Caliber.Az reports.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the context of food security and climate change.
Mammadov highlighted the dynamic nature of relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at expanding strategic partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of climate resilience and the outcomes of the COP29 conference held in Baku.
The two sides explored cooperation prospects across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, transport, energy, tourism and education. Preparations for the sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Moldova Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled for April 11 in Baku, were also discussed.
Additional topics included the potential expansion of direct flights, the establishment of joint ventures, and the exchange of scientific and technical expertise.
